Firstly… CONGRATULATIONS!

If you’ve just gotten engaged, you’re probably feeling excited… and slightly overwhelmed. Totally normal.

One of the first things couples in NSW should know is that there are legal steps involved in getting married, and some of them are time-sensitive. The big one? You’ll need to lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before your wedding date.

This is where a wedding celebrant helps early and makes life much easier. A celebrant will:

  • guide you through the paperwork and explain your options

  • help you understand what actually matters right now (and what can wait)

My biggest advice?

✔ Lock in your celebrant and venue early

✔ Don’t feel pressured to have everything figured out

✔ Remember… it is your wedding and it doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s
